Dr. Omar Al-Kazzaz is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and has a Bachelor in Biology. After completing his Bachelor degree, Dr. Al-Kazzaz worked at the Pharmacology Department at University of Houston College of Pharmacy and later on applied for pharmacy school. During his last year of rotation, he was exposed to compounding in his final rotation with Dr. Campbell at the Sugar Land location and PCCA during his 2nd year of pharmacy school. He was really interested in personalizing compounded medication and treating patients like family.

Dr. Danny Thai

Dr. Thai is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and graduated alongside Dr. Alkazzaz. During school, Dr. Thai was exposed to different fields of pharmacy outside the retail pharmacy world. Dr. Thai's interest in compounding was sparked by a compounding course he took during his second year of pharmacy school. To ensure that compounding was his pharmacy passion, he had his first rotation with Dr. Campbell at Campbell's Compounding Pharmacy. After his first day with Dr. Campbell, he knew exactly what he wanted to do after graduating. With mortar and pestle in hand, Dr. Thai became a part of the growing family at Campbell's Compounding. He enjoys meeting new patients and catching up with old patients. Always with a smile, Dr. Thai is here to help in any way he can.

Dr. Lisa Mathew

Dr. Lisa is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. While in school she did a rotation with Dr. Campbell and learned all about compounding. After she graduated Lisa took a position with a retail pharmacy. After a year with that pharmacy Dr. Campbell approached her about a new and exciting opportunity. He was looking for someone to help him with managing the pharmacies and knew she would be a perfect fit. Lisa has always been extremely friendly and always treats patients like family. She was recently married and has been juggling keeping her husband in line and keeping the staff in line as well. However, I guarantee you when you see her at the pharmacy there will not be an ounce of stress on her face…she is just that good! Campbell’s Compounding is extremely lucky to have such a great pharmacist on its staff! If you are in the Kirby area please drop in and see why Dr. Lisa Varghese should be your pharmacist!

Our Practice

Campbell’s Compounding was started in 2003 by Dr. Lance Campbell after working for several compounding pharmacies in the Houston area. After a brief period of working for K-Mart pharmacy while writing his business plan, Dr. Campbell realized that the retail pharmacy environment was seriously flawed. Why should patients be expected to wait for 45 minutes to have 1 medication filled? Was true customer service really a thing of the past?

Dr. Campbell knew that when he opened his first location on Kirby Drive, near the Texas Medical Center and Rice Village, it would be very different. Campbell’s Compounding Pharmacy was going to pride itself on customer service by providing a family feel. We would allow our family to work hard to help your family feel their best!

In 2007, Campbell’s Compounding opened its 2nd location in Sugar Land near the Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. This location has continued to grow and the residents have welcomed us into the area with open arms. We were very happy to expand into Sugar Land and look forward to many years of serving the community!

Medicine…It’s Not One-Size-Fits-All

UPCLOSE Magazine

Living beings that require medication come in different sizes, shapes, personalities and preferences. So when it comes to medication, why do we assume we all have the same needs?

Dr. Lance Campbell Pharm.D., R.Ph., owner of Campbell’s Compounding Pharmacy, says, “We are fortunate to have modern medicine in our lives. But to really see it’s effectiveness, the patient needs to take the medication…which at times can be difficult. With compounding–the practice where licensed pharmacists combine, mix, or alter the ingredients of a drug to create a medication tailored to the needs of the individual patient–we can compound drugs in a wide variety of ways, including liquids, gels, creams, ointments, nasal sprays, suppositories, lozenges and lollipops…and to some we can even add flavors.”

That’s a lot of great options…and it makes taking medication easier than ever for those that struggle with swallowing pills. Imagine giving a cherry lollipop to your sweet child or simply rubbing a lotion on your elderly parent’s forearm to deliver their medicine. And don’t forget pets! Dr. Campbell says, “No one likes hiding pills in food for their pet! We can compound flavored liquids, creams, and chewable treats. Prescriptions for creams can be rubbed into the ear (like every dog loves!) or liquids and chewy treats can be flavored with fish, chicken or beef to make your dog or cat say ‘yum!’”
